    Heritage Scholars Program:
Speak Up and Speak Out -
    A Forum for Youth

"You cannot be afraid to speak up and speak out for what you believe. You have to have courage, raw courage." –John Lewis
These are words from the late and honorable John Lewis (1940-2020). The African American Heritage Society is hosting a youth forum that will provide teenagers the opportunity to view the Documentary, John Lewis: Good Trouble. During the second session the students will be given the platform and opportunity to Speak Up and Speak Out about issues affecting the community, the state, and the nation. They will respond to "How can they continue John Lewis' legacy when confronting issues of today." Scholars will discuss takeaways from the film and encourage the students to dialog and engage in artistic expression.

    * The Facilitator for this event is Teacher and Doctoral Candidate Deleesa Cole.
